Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

Please note: The Testing Center will be offering these services at limited capacity due to the restraints of social distancing. Please check back for updated information.

The MAT is given online in the Testing Center by appointment only. Register online at the link below to make an appointment at least seven days prior to your desired test date.

The MAT is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. It consists of 120 partial analogies that are to be completed in 60 minutes. The NEW OFFICIAL MAT Practice can be found at https://tpc-etesting.com/matopt/Default.aspx

On the day of the exam, arrive at the Testing Center, fifth floor, North Shepler, at least ten minutes before your scheduled exam. The fee is $80.00 and can be paid online with a credit card at the time of registration or in person with a check or money order made payable to Cameron University. Two forms of I.D. are required, one must be a photo I.D. Acceptable form of a photo I.D. include a driver's license, military I.D., or current passport.

GRE

For those interested in taking the GRE General CBT (computer-based test), the closest CBT center is Oklahoma City. You can call 1-800-GRE-CAll or the OKC center directly, (405) 947-6248, to schedule a test. You will need to go to www.gre.org for registration, test dates, and information.

For those interested in taking the GRE Subject test they are administered at Cameron University once a year. You will need to go to http://www.gre.org for exact test dates, registration, study material and information.

The next GRE Subject Test will be held October 17, 2020 in the Testing Center.

LSAT

National ACT (American College Test)

The National ACT is administered on the Cameron campus in the Science Complex. Registration, test dates, fees, and registration deadlines are available at www.act.org.

SAT

Institutional TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language

The Institutional TOEFL exam is given in the Testing Center three times a year, by appointment only (additional exams will be given as necessary, contact the Testing Center for upcoming dates). You must register in person at least one month prior to the exam at the Testing Center, North Shepler Building, Fifth Floor, Room 532. This is to ensure we have time to order the appropriate amount of test materials.

The next TOEFL test will be held on October 26-30, 2020.

Purpose and make-up of exam -

  • Exam can only be used for admission to Cameron University.
  • Evaluates the English proficiency of students whose native Language is not English.
  • Each test uses a timed multiple-choice format to measure the ability to understand North American English.
  • Each exam is given in a single session of about two and a half hours. Each session consists of three timed sections:
    • Listening Comprehension (35 min.)
    • Structure and Written Expression (25 min.)
    • Reading Comprehension (55 min.)

Where do I get study material?

An Examinee Handbook and Admission Form will be given to you at registration in Testing Center. Additional study material can be found at www.toefl.org

When will exams be given?

At least one month prior to each semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Dates will be listed on the Testing Center webpage at www.cameron.edu, or you can call the Testing Center at (580) 581-2502.

How do I register for the exam?

  • Register at this link and pay total $70.00 fee with credit card: https://www.registerblast.com/cameron/exam.
  • Or register in person at the Testing Center, North Shepler, 5th floor at least one month before testing date and pay a $20.00 non-refundable deposit with check or money order made payable to Cameron University.

Cost of exam -

Please note that the price has changed to better cover our costs for administering the exam. The total fee is now $70.00; $20.00 non-refundable fee paid when registering and $50.00 fee paid on day of exam. All fees paid in person are to be paid by check or money order made payable to Cameron University.

What score is required and when will I get my scores?

  • Score required: 500
  • Score required for graduate enrollment: 550
  • Scores will be available within 2 business days

What should I bring to exam?

  • Arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to start time
  • Bring a photo ID (Student ID, Military ID, Driver’s License, current passport), payment and Admission Form.
