BECOMING A MEMBER
In the Criminal Justice Association, we strive to serve our community, educate, and have fun. If these are things you are interested in you should join the club.
Becoming a member is very easy. There is no requirement that you have to be a Criminal Justice major to become a member of the Criminal Justice Association. Just click on the application, print it out, fill it out, and return it to Ms. Danyle Smith in South Shepler 603. All meeting times and events will be posted on this website.
MEETING SCHEDULE
We have an energetic board, ready to be involved in Cameron and Lawton community activities; as well as, various opportunities to share in leadership, professional, and educational endeavors.

Phi Alpha Theta
An Introduction
Phi Alpha Theta, an international Historical Honor Society, was first formed on March 17, 1921, at the University of Arkansas. At this time it has approximately 850 active chapters. Since its beginning, Phi Alpha Theta has had more than 200,000 members in all 50 of the United States.
As a professional society, Phi Alpha Theta promotes the study of history through the exchange of learning and ideas amongst historians, excellent teaching, and the encouragement and publication of research.
Both students and professors gain the opportunity to meet distinguished historians and to present their own research papers at its biennial convention.
Eligibility
Undergraduate students must have junior standing or better, and must be in the upper thirty-five percent of their class.
Undergraduate students must also have completed at least 12 semester hours in History with a grade point average of 3.1 or better for said courses and maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Graduate students must have completed 12 semester hours or more in History as well as thirty percent of the residency requirements of the Master's Degree in History and have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or better.

Annual Phi Alpha Theta/Oklahoma Association of Professional Historians Conference
Each year historians and history students at undergraduate and graduate levels gather to present their work to one another at the PAT/OAPH Conference, which provides an opportunity for undergraduates to have a first professional experience and a chance for graduate students and professional historians to exchange views and ideas with one another.
PI SIGMA ALPHA
Pi Sigma Alpha is the national honor society for political science which promotes curricular and extra-curricular activities and stimulates scholarship and intelligent interest in political science.
HISTORY CLUB
The History Club's objective is to foster a lively pursuit of our past and have fun doing it.
The club's goals are:
- To promote intellectual improvement among students.
- To provide social opportunities for students and faculty interested in the study of the past.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the History Club is open to any Cameron University student or faculty member with an interest in history. PHI ALPHA THETA
The Alpha Alpha Kappa Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta (the history honor society) operates as a committee of the History Club of Cameron University. Cameron's chapter is open to any student who qualifies for membership in this National Honor Society.

Model U. N. Club
Model United Nations is an international organization that allows students in college to experience what it’s like to be diplomats working on international issues. The main goal of a Model UN team is to go to conferences that simulate the workings of the United Nations. Once there, a delegation takes on the task of representing a given country and negotiating within the context of the UN on major issues such as global poverty and health and nuclear weapons. Students are able not only to learn about international politics and major issues of the day, but they hone their communication and persuasive abilities, all while working as a team to further their country’s goals.
