Upon request, Cameron Library obtains research materials not available at Cameron University Library for current faculty, staff, students and faculty emeriti. Plan ahead as some items are more difficult than others to obtain. Interlibrary loan personnel will notify patrons in advance of charges. Borrowers are responsible for paying the replacement cost of lost or damaged materials and for the payment of overdue fines. Current faculty, staff, students and faculty emeriti residing within the local calling area may choose to be notified by telephone or e-mail when materials arrive. Those residing outside of the local calling area may choose to be notified by postcard or e-mail when materials arrive. Lending library personnel establish book and media loan periods. Those who wish to retain an item beyond the initial due date should notify interlibrary loan personnel of this fact three or more days prior to the due date. Articles are the borrower's to keep. Upon request, interlibrary loan personnel can deliver electronically many interlibrary loan articles to faculty and staff members.

Submitting Requests
Cameron University students, faculty, staff, and faculty emeriti may submit requests using ILLiad, our online Interlibrary Loan program.Requests may be submitted via FirstSearch and EBSCOHost database ILL options.
To ensure timely delivery, patrons should submit requests fourteen or more days before items are needed.
Material Delivery
Patrons residing within the local calling area may choose to be notified by telephone or email when materials arrive. Those residing outside of the local calling area may choose to be notified by e-mail when materials arrive. Interlibrary loan personnel can deliver articles received electronically to on- and off-campus computers.

Borrowing Limitations
Normally, Cameron University Library-owned materials available for circulation and textbooks currently in use and on the Cameron Bookstore list will not be borrowed.Any type of library material may be requested. However, many libraries will not lend rare or expensive items, reference books, dissertations, theses, audiovisual items, books published in the current year, unique items which would be difficult or impossible to replace, fragile items, entire issues or volumes of journals, and microfilm/microform.
The limit on the number of active requests depends on a patron’s status, for faculty 50, for graduate students 30 and for all other types of patrons 20.
Borrowing Patron Responsibilities
If the item must be ordered from a library that charges a fee, the borrowing patron is responsible for payment of the fee. Interlibrary loan personnel will obtain patron approval before completing requests with associated charges.Failure to pay charges or return materials on time may result in suspension of library privileges and/or other University-related privileges.
