Aggie Art Walk

Calling all artists!  The Cameron University Alumni Association* is seeking applicants from artists (professional and amateur) in our community to participate in a mural competition.

Cameron University Alumni Association will select 12 artists to participate in a mural art display, which will be displayed around the Fine Arts Courtyard at Cameron University. 

CUAA will supply the artists with the MDO wood panels (artist may choose preference of 4’ x 8’ or 4’ x 4’ panel). Each artist will also receive a $50 allowance for paint and supplies. Artists are responsible for any cost above the $50 allowance. The artist should keep in mind that these murals will be hung outside and must withstand all types of weather.

To apply, please fill out the form below and include a rough sketch of your mural idea.

The theme for the series of murals is “Connections.” The artist is free to interpret that theme as they choose.  

Applications are open beginning August 19 and must be submitted by September 10.  

Selected artists will be announced on September 17, at which point artists may then pick up supplies.  Artwork will be due on October 19.  All artwork submitted for the Aggie Art Walk will become the property of the Cameron University Alumni Association.

Artists will be selected by members of the CUAA Board of Directors and announced on September 17, at which time the artist may pick up supplies from designated location. Artist is required to transport panels to and from campus and must provide own space to paint off-campus.

Murals must be brought to the Fine Arts Courtyard on October 19 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

All artwork submitted for the Aggie Art Walk will become the property of the Cameron University Alumni Association.

Installation will occur the week of October 19, with a community event to follow (date TBD).

By applying to be a featured artist, you are agreeing to the above conditions.
