MISSION STATEMENT
The Academic Advising Center helps prepare students for success in scholastic, personal, and professional life in the academic setting by assisting students in the development of skills to define and achieve their academic goals.
By partnering with support staff, administration, and academic department faculty, the Academic Advising Center works with students to identify the appropriate major for their stated goals and create individualized educational plans for academic success. Using this approach, Academic Advising Center staff will:
Build collaborative relationships with students,
Provide timely and accurate information about academic programs,
Make appropriate referrals to campus resources,
Emphasize the idea that “ultimate responsibility for making decisions about educational plans and life goals rests with the individual student.” (NACADA, 2003)
